We are not the insurer
insuremy.bike is a comparison and education service, not an insurance company. Any coverage you buy is issued by the respective insurer and its underwriter (for example, several bicycle policies are underwritten by Markel American Insurance Company). Their financial strength, terms, and claims handling are their own.
How the estimates are made
Comparison prices are computed from public data, recovered rate models, and published price points, pinned to a common reference profile so the columns are comparable. Figures labeled estimate are being confirmed from live quotes. Your actual price depends on your bike, ZIP, coverage, deductible, and the insurer’s own underwriting — it may be higher or lower than shown.
How we may be paid
insuremy.bike is pre-launch and currently earns nothing from these comparisons. If and when we become a licensed producer or referral partner, we may receive a commission or referral fee from an insurer when you buy through us. That will never change the honest ranking you see here, and we will update this disclosure when it applies.
S4834 and regulatory status
Statements about New Jersey’s S4834 e-bike liability mandate are our reading of public sources and are provided for education, not as legal advice; the enacted minimum limits and effective dates should be confirmed against the bill text. We are working through NJ DOBI filing with a licensed partner and cannot bind coverage until that is complete.
