Spring

  • Post-winter full service before first big ride
  • Re-photograph the bike if components changed over winter
  • Review your insurance declared value against current replacement cost
  • Registration check: is the serial still listed correctly on Bike Index?

Summer

  • Traveling? Run the travel packing checklist two weeks out
  • Event season: check whether timed events are excluded from your coverage
  • Heat kills batteries: don't leave e-bikes in cars or direct sun
  • High theft season — busiest racks, best locks, no overnight street parking

Fall

  • Lights and reflectives for shrinking daylight
  • Tire choice for wet leaves and early frost
  • Claim any warranty issues before winter storage makes you forget

Winter

  • Store indoors, batteries at 40–80% charge in a heated space
  • Winter riders: wash salt off the drivetrain weekly
  • Annual insurance review: value, deductible, coverage gaps from this year's riding
  • Off-season is service season — shops are empty and turnaround is fast
